Vishal co-founded Lok Capital, an impact investment fund where he has been involved in raising, deploying and portfolio management of three funds into sectors such as financial services, agriculture, healthcare, livelihoods. He has served on the Boards of more than a dozen companies including Utkarsh Coreinvest Ltd (parent company of Utkarsh Small Finance Bank), Ummeed Housing Finance Pvt Ltd, Spandana Sphoorty Financial Ltd., Arohan Financial Services, and Akshayakalpa Farms & Foods Pvt Ltd. Prior to Lok, Vishal worked for about a decade in delivering marketing and business development services in the financial services with Capital One and in the telecom sector, both in developed as well as developing economies.
Deepak Amin is a serial entrepreneur and investor having promoted Light Microfinance, and co-founded Covelix, Inc, and vJungle. He has also worked at Microsoft, USA for number of years and led the original Internet Explorer browser team and was also lead engineer for Microsoft Windows Networking. An active angel investor in technology start-up companies, Deepak has been a limited partner in venture capital funds based in the US and India. Putting his immense experience with technology to worthy effect, Deepak serves on the Technology Advisory Council of Grameen Foundation for Microfinance, USA, working to uplift the underprivileged by providing access to finance and technology. He has also served on the Advisory Board of National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (Department of Science and Technology, Government of India), to promote technology entrepreneurship and innovation in India. Deepak is currently an Independent Director on the board of SBI Life Insurance Ltd, India’s second largest and publicly traded life insurance company. He is the Chairman of the Technology Committee of the board and a member of the Audit Committee and the Risk Management Committee of the board. He also served as an Independent Director on the Board of State Bank of India (SBIN), a Fortune 500 company, India’s largest bank and a top 50 bank in the world. As Director, he was Chairman of the IT Strategy Committee and Member of the Audit Committee, Risk Management Committee, Special Committee for Monitoring Large Value Frauds, Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, Remuneration Committee and Stakeholders Committee of the Board. Deepak did his Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and Master of Science in Computer Science from University of Rhode Island.
Dr. Priyanshu Gupta is Assistant Professor at IIM Lucknow in the Business Sustainability area where he teaches Social Entrepreneurship, Impact Investment, and Sustainability Measurement Certification and Reporting. His research has featured in reputed national and international journals, and at leading international conferences. Before IIM Lucknow, he was associated with Azim Premji University. He has over a decade of corporate and development experience spanning impact investing, strategy consulting, and policy consulting. Prior to his PhD, he was Associate Vice President at Lok Capital, a leading impact investor in India. Prior to Lok, he worked as strategy and operations consultant at A.T. Kearney Limited . Priyanshu completed his PhD in Public Policy and Management from IIM Calcutta, and holds a post graduate in management (PGDM) from IIM Bangalore and a bachelors degree in engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi (IIT-BHU).
